Terms and Conditions

The terms “Participant, participants, guest, guests, client, clients, you, your” refer to individuals who have made and paid for a reservation with Pict Expeditions and its partners and, by doing so, have read, understood, and agreed to all the terms, conditions, and policies outlined below.

By purchasing a ticket to participate in a group or private tour with Pict Expeditions and its partners, you hereby accept the following terms, conditions, and policies.

Unforeseen Events and Liability Policy

The Icelandic wilderness and Vatnajökull National Park are highly dynamic environments where natural conditions change constantly. Challenges and hazards may include, but are not limited to:
• Extreme weather conditions (strong winds, heavy rain, snowfall, whiteouts, cold exposure, sun exposure)
• Terrain-related risks (glacier crevasses, unstable mountain structures, rockfalls, icefalls, uneven terrain, tripping hazards)
• Glacier-specific dangers (iceberg rollovers and collapses, glacier calving, shifting snow conditions, glacier lagoon ice conditions)
• Natural disasters (volcanic eruptions, glacial outburst floods, river surges, avalanches, erosion)
• Other risks (heights, flooding, water ice, equipment failure, or guide judgment errors)

By participating in outdoor activities, you acknowledge that these inherent risks exist and that unforeseen events may occur. Pict Expeditions and its partners shall not be held responsible for any loss, injury, or fatality resulting from such occurrences.

Severe Weather Policy

Icelandic weather can be extreme, and there may be occasions where conditions become too severe to operate safely, requiring us to cancel tours.

If Pict Expeditions and its partners cancel your tour due to safety concerns, we will make every effort to reschedule your booking at a more suitable time. If rescheduling is not possible, you will receive a full refund in accordance with our Cancellation Policy (detailed below).

Tours will only be canceled due to safety concerns.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to feimnarjupan@gmail.com.

For tours booked through a third-party vendor, please contact the vendor directly regarding cancellation and refund requests.
• Group Tour Cancellations
• More than 7 days (168 hours) before departure → 90% refund of the total tour price.
• Less than 7 days (168 hours) before departure → No refund.
• Private/Custom Tour or course Cancellations
• More than 7 days (168 hours) before departure → 80% refund of the total tour price.
• Less than 7 days (168 hours) before departure → No refund.

Cancellations must be submitted in writing to feimnarjupan@gmail.com.

The partial refund policy accounts for non-recoverable fees and commissions paid toward our booking system, payment provider, and administrative costs.

Governing Law Policy

Pict Expeditions is an Icelandic company operating under the registered name Feimna Rjúpan ehf.

By booking with Pict Expeditions, you agree that this contract is exclusively governed by Icelandic law. Any disputes arising from or in connection with this agreement shall be exclusively handled by the District Court of Reykjavík.

Information Privacy Policy

Pict Expeditions will store and use only the information necessary to fulfill our contract with you and to inform you of relevant services and offers.

If you do not wish to receive additional information or marketing materials, please email feimnarjupan@gmail.com to opt out.

Travel Insurance

As with all international travel, Pict Expeditions strongly recommends purchasing comprehensive travel insurance. Your policy should cover unexpected incidents, trip cancellations, or alterations to your travel plans.
